For the past 6 months or so, I've been doing 40mg Pantoprazole (AKA Protonix) once per day for the time being. It definitely works. I still need to watch what I eat, but for the most part it works well.

Each tablet contains 20mg or 40mg of pantoprazole. You can buy pantoprazole 20mg tablets from pharmacies. These are suitable for the short-term treatment of heartburn and acid reflux in adults. The usual dose to treat: heartburn and acid reflux is 20mg a day. gastro-oesophageal reflux disease is 20mg to 40mg a day.
Adults—40 milligrams (mg) once a day for up to 8 weeks. Your doctor may want you to take pantoprazole for more than 8 weeks for certain conditions. Children 5 years of age and older weighing 40 kilograms (kg) or more—40 mg once a day for up to 8 weeks.
