Paragard IUD discussion part 2. DISCUSSION. There was a post on here about a year ago by u/konkeydong7 regarding Paragard and I wanted to add mine/have an open discussion. (Comments are disabled on the OG post). I got my Paragard in 2019 because 1) emergency contraception and 2) it was the only birth control that didn’t interact with my psych meds.
2 years and on. At 2 years, I had my first ever panic attack. I am a relatively laid back person, but I began having severe anxiety on my period, and general anxiety regularly. I had every single symptom of PMDD. I felt like an entirely different person the week before my period. I had zero energy.
Four months post Paragard insertion, and I love it. I have had a child, so the insertion for me felt like nothing. They cut the strings too short on the initial IUD, had to remove it, and insert another, and I still felt nothing. I cramped like crazy the first few days, but I knew to expect this.
19 Μαρ 2024 · I’m about to be 5 weeks pp and I’m scheduled next week to get the paragard IUD. Anyone have any positive experiences or just how your experience in general was with this brand of IUD!

I had a friend get pregnant on a Paragard. She did go full term with her pregnancy and the baby was healthy but she did have a hard pregnancy. The IUD was not able to be removed safely so it stayed in durning the pregnancy.
I currently have the Paragard IUD, in addition, my husband and I use condoms and spermicide each and every time. I'd like to add one more form, do you think a diaphram is ok, or could that pull on the strings and cause it to come out?
