A 235-foot long pedestrian bridge—the Pacific Way Bridge—connects visitors from the Muir Beach parking lot to the beach and Coastal Trail, which is multi-use and accessible. The overlook picnic site is scenic but windy, so remember to carry layers and hold on to your paper plates!
To find the parking lot for Muir Beach, turn off Highway 1 onto Pacific Way and drive to the end. There is a long wooden bridge that takes you from the parking area to the beach access trails. Most folks congregate at the south end of the beach because that’s where the trail hits the sand.
9 Ιαν 2015 · Muir beach is a quaint cove near Muir Woods National Park. It is what you would picture a Northern California Beach to look like. The water was cold but there were many people wading and swimming. Great place to try surfing.
Directions to Muir Beach. From Highway 101, take Highway 1 west to Pacific Way. Follow Pacific Way southwest to the entrance of the Muir Beach parking lot.
15 Μαρ 2021 · There is no entrance fee to use the beach and parking in the paved lot is free as well. From the parking lot, it's a short walk to the water via an accessible footbridge that goes directly to the beach (beach wheelchairs are available to use with an advance reservation if you need them).
Located about 2 miles (3 km) from the entrance to Muir Woods National Monument, the beach is about 1000 feet (305 m) long and 200 feet (61 m) wide, with coarse sand and several large boulders. There is a parking lot at the beach, which is then accessible via a footbridge.
