Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (MDS-UPDRS). The MDS-UDPRS Task Force revised and expanded the UPDRS using recommendations from a published critique. The MDS-UPDRS has four parts, namely, I: Non-motor Experiences of Daily Living; II: Motor Experiences of Daily Living; III: Motor Examination; IV: Motor Complications.
Overview: This portion of the scale assesses the non-motor impact of Parkinson's disease (PD) on patients’ experiences of daily living. There are 13 questions. Part IA is administered by the rater (six questions) and focuses on complex behaviors.
13 Αυγ 2019 · The MDS-UPDRS is a revision of the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) originally developed in the 1980s. It addresses several problematic areas of the original scale identified by an MDS review task force.
It is designed to assess signs and symptoms of Parkinson's Disease. It can be administered over multiple patient encounters to track Parkinson's Disease progression over time . The measure consists of 42 questions (some of which include multiple parts) as well as the Hoehn and Yahr Stage and Schwab and England Activities of Daily Living Scale.
