'Patmore' is a vigorous, pyramidal tree with a strong central leader, ascending branches and a symmetrical, rounded crown. 'Patmore' is very similar in appearance to F. pennsylvanica 'Marshall' (also known as 'Marshall's Seedless').
'Patmore' is a vigorous male, seedless tree and is considered to be superior to many Green Ash cultivars, including 'Marshall's Seedles'. An unattractive ash flower gall (formed by mites) can develop on male flowers and persists into winter.
Green ash is threatened by the emerald ash borer, a beetle introduced from Asia. This introduced pest kills most ash trees that it infests, accounting for mass die-offs of ashes in North America and in Moscow, Russia. [13] .

3 ημέρες πριν · The easiest way to determine whether it is actually and emerald ash borer (EAB) is to examine the bore holes in the bark. EAB make distinctive D-shaped holes. For a positive identification of the grub, please take one or more samples to your local Extension office. They can send it to the experts at OSU for closer examination.
The tree is very susceptible to infestation with the emerald ash borer. This borer will typically kill an ash tree within 3 to 5 years after infestation. It is very difficult to eradicate this pest which feeds under the bark and bores into wood.
