Paul Carr (born 1961) is an English classical music composer. Born in Cornwall, he has been writing music since the age of 15. He studied voice at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and worked in opera stage management before concentrating on composing. He is the brother of conductor Gavin Carr.

Paul Carr was commissioned by the English Arts Chorale in 2017 to write the Stabat Mater which received its World Premiere on this CD. Paul Carr has divided his Stabat Mater in six movements. He gave them English titles: II Who would not weep? III O thou Mother, fount of love! I listened to his Stabat many times because I love it!
Requiem For An Angel. Composed in dedication to my mother following her death in 2005, Requiem for an Angel has since gone on to become my most performed work, with over 40 performances to date.
