Six Speed Transmission: One IPCRCer is attempting to squeeze a six speed transmission off of a VT700 into the PC800’s engine. It looks promising! Flex-It Sidecar: This is one sidecar option for the PC800. A few people really love their sidecars.
Check the automatic transmission fluid level (with the engine off and the car on level ground) with the dipstick in the right end of the transmission housing. Remove the dipstick and wipe it off. Insert the dipstick, remove it again, and read the fluid level. The fluid level should be between the upper and lower marks.
Transmission Oil/Fluid Check. Transmission oil/fluid must be checked with the engine off and the car on level ground. If the engine has been running, some engine components may be hot enough to burn you. If the oil/fluid level is low, check for possible leaks before adding oil. Do not overfill.
Oil Pressure Warning Light (red) Lights when engine oil pressure is below the normal operating range. Should also light when the ignition switch is ON and the engine is not running. Should go off when the engine starts, except for occasional flickering at or near idle speed when the engine is warm. CAUTION:
Change your oil filter. Some lubricants are NOT compatible and mixing some synthetics and regular oils can damage or kill your engine. Pardon the rant, but proper engine/ transmission lubrication is an important issue and it's in everyone's favor to benefit from discussion with experienced riders / mechanics.
