29 Μαΐ 2021 · There are many ways to determine if your PCIe slot is bad. The easiest way is by testing the slot with different cards that fit. Doing this would give you insight into the probable cause and highlight whether the issue lies with the slot or the device.
The PCIe Test card operates at speeds up to gen4.0 (16Gbps per lane). The capabilities of a PCIe link depend on the highest speed capabilities that both the endpoint and the host can agree on. If the PCIe Test Card is inserted in a gen4.0 slot, it will perform at gen4.0.

Your bios controls whether it will see the device in the PCIe slot or not. Also the spec's for your motherboard for what type of PCIe slot that is, determines if it can handle that card, along with your power supply.
