The Pennsylvania State Police established a web-based computer application called "Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History" or PATCH. Using this system, a requestor can apply for a criminal background check on an individual basis.
PSP established the Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History, or PATCH, for agencies, companies, and others to request criminal background checks on individuals. The information provided by the requestor will be checked against the criminal history database maintained by the Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository.
Checks made on the PATCH site can return some results immediately for individuals with no records. Checks that require more investigation are marked “under review” and may take two to four weeks.
Welcome to Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History. The PATCH unit will no longer mail out any PATCH check that is requested on the EPATCH web site. It will be the responsibility of the requestor to print out the No Record or Record response. PATCH Helpline 1-888-QUERY-PA (1-888-783-7972)
PATCH will find = and=20 display the corresponding record check request. Details on the = request can=20 be viewed by clicking on the control number. A copy of this = certification=20 form can be obtained by clicking on the Certification Form = hyperlink=20 provided on the request details screen.
Record Check Status. To perform a search on a record check request you must enter in all the data exactly as it was entered for the original record check request. if a middle name was entered on the original request the you must enter the name exactly.
