Pennie will use the 2022 federal poverty level guidelines, as listed below, to calculate eligibility for financial savings for individuals enrolling in 2023 coverage through Pennie. This is because eligibility for financial savings through Pennie is based on projected income for the entire year.
Through 2022, Pennsylvanians who buy individual health plans through Pennie will receive increased financial assistance to offset the cost of insurance premiums. Previously, only people who earned less than 400% of the federal poverty level were eligible, but now anyone can qualify for one.
