The Fulton County Board of Assessors aims to inform the public about changes in property tax laws. During the 2024 legislative session, Georgia lawmakers passed HB 581, HR 1022, and HB 808, which introduce changes to property tax laws that may impact Fulton County taxpayers.
Taxpayers are required to file at least an initial tax return for taxable property (both real and personal property) owned on January 1 of the tax year. In Elbert County, the time for filing returns is January 1 through April 1.
