The banlist for this tournament is the same as the [Gen 9] National Dex ladder on Smogon's simulator, Pokemon Showdown!, and can be found on the strategy dex. Every pairing will be a best-of-three. Battles must take place on Pokemon Showdown!.
Although often overlooked due to the influx of many powerful threats and walls, Phanpy can still support its team pretty well. Its wonderful base 90 HP and base 60 Defense, along with a usable base 60 Attack, allow it to both take physical hits and hit back strongly.
For its nest, Phanpy digs a vertical pit in the ground at the edge of a river. It marks the area around its nest with its trunk to let the others know that the area has been claimed. Phanpy uses its long nose to shower itself. When others gather around, they thoroughly douse each other with water.
Phanpy is a spectacular Physical Sweeper. It was designed to take down the opponent's team with brute physical power. With Pickup, if Phanpy has no item it finds one used by an adjacent pokemon this turn. Seed Bomb or Rock Slide are added to provide additional threat coverage.
