The Cool Insuring Arena (originally called Glens Falls Civic Center) is a 4,794-seat multi-purpose arena located in downtown Glens Falls, New York, that is the home of the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL.
The Thunder are the sixth professional team to call the Cool Insuring Arena home, as they join the Adirondack Red Wings, Adirondack IceHawks, Adirondack Frostbite, Adirondack Phantoms and Adirondack Flames in the storied tradition of hockey in Glens Falls.
The Adirondack Phantoms were a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL), who began play in the 2009–10 AHL season. The Phantoms were based in Glens Falls, New York, playing home games at the Glens Falls Civic Center and were the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers.

1 Νοε 2016 · The Frostbite suspended operations in 2006, and it looked like the Civic Center had seen the end of professional hockey in Glens Falls. The city and arena got a second chance when the Philadelphia Flyers, looking for a temporary home for their American Hockey League Phantoms, placed the team in Glens Falls in 2009.
6 Μαΐ 2009 · "We’re looking forward to writing a new history for hockey in Glens Falls." The Adirondack Phantoms will begin play at the Glens Falls Civic Center in 2009-10. The Civic Center is managed by Global Spectrum a subsidiary of Flyers’ parent company, Comcast-Spectacor.
