The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (officially the GCRTA, but historically and locally referred to as the RTA) is the public transit agency for Cleveland, Ohio, United States and the surrounding suburbs of Cuyahoga County.
RTA is a political subdivision of the State, created under Chapter 306 of the Ohio Revised Code. All power and authority granted to RTA is vested in, and exercised by, its Board of Trustees, which is charged with managing and conducting RTA’s affairs.
At any given moment there are 300-400 buses and 13 or more rail cars in the field for Greater Cleveland RTA and hundreds of operators serving thousands of riders in sprawling Cuyahoga County.
