  2. Trying to remember each note in every key can be a difficult task. With this easy to read chart you won’t have to worry about it anymore. Each key signautre is clearly labled with the number of sharps and flats for each scale. It also contains the major scale and releative minor scale for each key.

  3. The black keys represent the sharps and flats (the “#” symbol means “sharp”, the “♭” means “flat”), which are the raised or lowered versions of these natural notes. To be more precisely, sharp means a semitone higher, and flat means a semitone lower. Black keys correspond to more than one note name.

  4. How to Read a Sharp and Flat. In music, a sharp is represented by a #, or number sign, and a flat looks like a lower case b. This tells us that you raise the original note up one half step or down one half step.
