Piazzale Michelangelo (Michelangelo Square) is a square with a panoramic view of Florence, Italy, located in the Oltrarno district. History. This Florentine piazza was designed by architect Giuseppe Poggi and built in 1869 on a hill just south of the historic center, during the redevelopment of Oltrarno, the left (south) bank of the Arno river.

20 Αυγ 2024 · The Piazzale Michelangelo is an 1860 square by Giuseppe Poggi and is full of replicas of Michelangelo statues, including a second copy of the David (the original is in the Accademia Gallery). The Piazza is located on a hill, giving you a beautiful 360 degree view of Florence and the surrounding area.
