It is connected distally to the vagina, and laterally to the uterine tubes. The uterus has three parts; Fundus – top of the uterus, above the entry point of the uterine tubes.

It is located posterior to the urinary bladder and is connected via the cervix to the vagina on its inferior border and the fallopian tubes along its superior end.

The uterine corpus usually arches forward over the superior surface of the bladder, creating an angle of anteflexion between the corpus and the internal os.
