A Houston Pilot may refuse to use a transfer arrangement that he or she believes is unsafe. We encourage all ships to review the following information to ensure a safe transfer and to avoid potential disruptions to ship schedules and port operations.
How to Order a Pilot. Pilot orders are normally placed by locally based ship agents/representatives who hold established accounts with the Houston Pilots. Minimum Time Required. The Houston Pilots require a minimum of four hours' notice for a vessel movement.
