9 Νοε 2023 · Platinum’s exceptional properties and scarcity make it one of the most sought-after and valuable precious metals. See the fact file below for more information about Platinum, or you can download our 27-page Platinum worksheet pack to utilize within the classroom or home environment.
28 Απρ 2021 · Properties of Platinum Group Metals. The PGMs share several common properties: All of the platinum group metals are d-block transition metal elements. They are all silver-colored metals. The metals are extremely dense. The elements with highest density (osmium and iridium) are PGMs.
17 Μαΐ 2022 · Physical and chemical properties. Physically, platinum is heavy, soft, malleable (easy to work—only silver and gold are easier to shape), and ductile (easy to draw into wires) and has a fairly high melting point (~1770°C or 3220°F). Chemically, it's often described as a noble metal because it is so unreactive.
21 Αυγ 2020 · Platinum metal has a number of useful properties, which explains its application in a wide range of industries. It is one of the densest metal elements—almost twice as dense as lead—and very stable, giving the metal excellent corrosion resistant properties.
Platinum definition, properties (melting point, boiling point, density, atomic number, electron configuration, color), what is it used for, fun facts, price.
Element Platinum (Pt), Group 10, Atomic Number 78, d-block, Mass 195.084. Sources, facts, uses, scarcity (SRI), podcasts, alchemical symbols, videos and images.
Platinum is a chemically stable element as it is one of the least reactive metals (Nobel metal). platinum have two oxidation states, +2 and +4. Platinum readily reacts with carbon. Certain non-metals, including phosphorus, silicon and sulfur also combine with platinum. Platinum is readily attacked by peroxides and fluorine at high temperatures.
