14 Ιαν 2008 · The present study demonstrates that clopidogrel doses of 0.20 mg · kg −1 · d −1 in infants and young children 0 to 24 months of age with a systemic-to–pulmonary artery shunt or stent achieve platelet inhibition levels similar to those in adults taking the standard adult dose of clopidogrel 75 mg/d.
Clopidogrel (kloh PID oh grel) stops platelets from getting sticky and clumping together to form a clot. It is used to stop strokes and used after a heart treatment to protect arteries.
Plavix is a medicine used to prevent problems caused by blood clots in adults who have: • recently had a myocardial infarction (heart attack). Plavix can be started between a few days and 35 days after the attack; • recently had an ischaemic stroke (stroke caused by failure of the blood supply to part of the brain).

6-year old child (#10) was treated with triple therapy consist-ing of clopidogrel (1 mg/kg/day), warfarin (2.5 mg/day), and aspirin (80 mg/day). A massive upper gastrointestinal bleed developed after 1 month of anticoagulant therapy. On admis-sion, hemodynamic compromise (hypotension) was noted.
