Despite only getting a fraction Family Guy's viewership, American Dad always been the better show. I will now explain why I think so. Unlike Peter, Stan has a consistent personality, Peter's personality is literally what the joke calls for. While Stan has a childish side him, his intellect never switches them 4-year-olds and average like Peter.
