Plover (rhymes with "lover") is a desktop application that allows anyone to use stenography to write on their computer, up to speeds of 200WPM and beyond. Plover is part of the Open Steno Project.
Plover is a small, slick Python application that you run in the background. It acts as a translator to read steno input from your keyboard or steno machine and then emulates keystrokes. The programs you use can't tell that you're using steno.

Plover runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Plover is part of the Open Steno Project. The Open Steno Project aims to open up stenography to the general public.
With the advent of Plover, it's possible to use low-tech QWERTY keyboards or any compatible professional steno keyboard, double or triple your typing speed, and perhaps mitigate some of the health issues associated with typing on QWERTY keyboards.
