The game was announced worldwide on February 27, 2024, at 14:00 UTC, through Pokémon Presents. It is set to be released simultaneously worldwide on the Nintendo Switch in 2025.
Announced in February 2024, Legends: Z-A is part of the ninth generation of Pokémon video games. It takes place in Lumiose City in the Kalos region, based on Paris, France, which originated in Pokémon X and Y (2013). Legends: Z-A is the second Pokémon Legends game, following Legends: Arceus (2022).
