The Police Academy is the NYPD's state-of-the-art training facility that provides academic and physical preparation to uniformed and civilian members of the NYPD.
Tuition Assistance and Other Benefits. Tuition Assistance: Receive up to $20,000 in tuition assistance ($2,500 to $5,000 per semester, up to 4 semesters). We work in collaboration with the New York City Police Department and the Police Athletic League. Our school offers a challenging academic program introducing students to careers in law, law enforcement, and public safety.
City youth between the ages of 10 and 16 are eligible for the Youth Police Academy. Five Academies, one in each borough, takes place five days a week for six weeks. Police officers conduct classes that include lectures, role-plays, and demonstrations.
