All nominations for the National Police Service Medal, The National Medal for Service and The New South Wales Police Medal for Diligent Service are initiated by internal police systems.
1 Οκτ 2024 · Wearing of ribbons. Given the nature of the National Police Memorial Day you should wear official orders, decorations, medals or emblems however we realise some may elect to wear ribbons instead.
The oldest police awards thus have such names as "Medal of Valor" and "Medal of Honor". Later in the 20th century, police departments began issuing medal ribbons for such routine tasks as years of service, completion of training, or simply general membership in the police.
Medal ribbons are worn in rows up to three or four across, depending on available chest area. Medals are to be court mounted to a length of 95mm top to bottom • Make sure that the lower edge of all medals and commendations are aligned.
(Note: above example correctly illustrates ribbons mounted in order of seniority as you are looking at the ribbons) • Ribbons will be worn uniformly throughout the police department by assigned levels of seniority. Arrange ribbons in order of precedence in rows from top down, left to right.
The Police Exemplary Service Medal must be on the left breast of uniform jackets to the outside (towards the arm) and following any military long service and efficiency medals and to the inside of (or preceding) any foreign decorations.
1 Ιουλ 2023 · The LAPD Manual encourages employees to wear their Department ribbons or medals on their uniforms, and on special occasions they may wear ribbons or medals earned while serving in the military. Military ribbons would take precedence over Department ribbons when worn together.
