The attraction -- that giant ram's head and accompanying pieces -- is called the Porter Sculpture Park, and it features a big collection of metal art scattered around a hillside. It's all done by a guy named Wayne Porter, but I'll save the background for a future trip if we ever stop.
Looks epic from the highway and then doesn't look like much as you approach - yet from an artistic viewpoint - this sculpture park is unlike anything you'll find/see anywhere else. A lot of thought went into it and make sure to read the placards of poetry and you'll be able to piece together for which sculpture it pertains to, if any.
Just off Interstate 90 near Montrose sits an oasis of whimsy and wonder. Porter Sculpture Park is the home of dragons, dinosaurs, a giant hammer and more than 40 other recycled metal brainchildren of sculptor Wayne Porter.
