Your tuition and fees will vary based on your program, the number of credits you take, your residency status, your class standing, and many other factors. You can also use our cost estimator tool to determine approximately how much you’ll pay or use the fee tables below.
Tuition and fees must be paid in full each term. At the start of each term, students must pay the balance in full or opt-in to the PSU Payment Plan by the first payment due date. After the due date, students with a balance will be enrolled in the Payment Plan and incur a late fee.

Unlike traditional merchants, PSU must be transparent and cannot build the merchant fees into the cost of the tuition. Portland State University gets no portion of these fees. PSU recommends paying tuition with e-Check where there are no service fees. Does PSU receive any of this money? No, PSU does not receive any of this money.
The federal government has set annual borrowing limits of $3,500 for the first academic year of undergraduate study (up to 44 credits); $4,500 for the second academic year (45–89 credits); and $5,500 an academic year for the remaining years of undergraduate study.
