26 Απρ 2024 · This topic provides a brief overview of exercise ECG testing including methodology, indications, and contraindications, and discusses the ECG manifestations of exercise-induced ischemia. A discussion on how to select the optimal cardiac stress test in a given patient is presented elsewhere.
18 Απρ 2023 · This video from the Exercise Stress ECG Essentials course covers the basic criteria for identifying a “positive” stress ECG test.
Exercise ECG (exercise stress test) has a sensitivity of 40–50% and a specificity of around 85–90%. This means that exercise ECG will detect roughly 40–50% of all patients with coronary artery disease, while correctly classifying healthy patients as healthy in 85–90% of cases.
17 Απρ 2020 · A cardiac stress test looks at your heart's beat and rhythm by ECG (electrocardiogram), but also your blood pressure, breathing and respiration. Learn how doctors interpret cardiac (heart) stress test results from different types of cardiac stress tests, including chemical and exercise stress tests.
Chapter content. Metabolic equivalent (MET): measuring oxygen consumption. Estimation of oxygen consumption is central to the assessment of exercise capacity. Metabolic equivalents (METs) can be used to estimate the energy cost of physical activity.
1 Ιουλ 1997 · Stress imaging tests are more favored in this patient group because of their capability to document the site of ischemia and their increased sensitivity. In symptomatic patients after PTCA, a positive exercise test is predictive of restenosis.
