4 Απρ 2019 · In present study, we aimed to investigate anemia etiologies, underlying causes, laboratory markers of anemia, required interventions in postmenopausal women and elderly men. The medical data of the anemic subjects were recorded from the patients' files and computerized database of the institution and retrospectively analyzed.
Results illustrated that anemia was present at baseline in 5.5% (n=3,979) of the analytic cohort. Anemia was more prevalent in women of advanced age (>63.5 years), those identifying as African American, smokers, those with lower income, and women with low or high body mass index.
