Between June 2018 and June 2023, the price of a U.S. stamp increased from 50¢ to 63¢, representing a rise of 26%. Meanwhile, the average price increase in our sample was more than double the increase in the United States: 55%.
The price of a domestic standard letter has increased in 14 of the surveyed countries since the last study was conducted. The average European nominal price is currently €1.16. The postage rate for letters sent within Europe increased in 16 countries, bringing the average cost for this type of letter to €1.73.
