Poulnabrone dolmen (Irish: Poll na Brón, lit. 'Hole of the Quernstone' [2]) is a large dolmen (or cromlech, [3] a type of single-chamber portal tomb) located in the Burren, County Clare, Ireland.

Poulnabrone is a portal tomb located at one of the highest points of the Burren. The portal tomb consists of upright stones supporting a large capstone. Another large stone on the ground to the rear of the monument was likely a second capstone which may have covered the back of the structure.

18 Ιουν 2013 · Poulnabrone represents one of the very few Irish portal tombs that have been archaeologically investigated. This excavation, which was carried out by Ann Lynch, uncovered the remains of twenty two people, sixteen adults and six children within the interior of the tomb.
