The GED is aligned to federal Career and College Readiness Standards and designed to measure skills and concepts associated with four years of regular high school instruction. The test is developed by adult and secondary educators and subject matter specialists.
To qualify for a New Jersey state-issued high-school diploma, the minimum GED test score requirements must be met. Passing test scores are kept as part of a candidate's permanent GED testing record and all scores are confidential.
Adults ages 18 and older have four options for completing a high school education: High School Diploma. General Education Development (GED) High School Equivalency Test (HiSet) National External Diploma Program (NEDP)
New Jersey Adult Education. The New Jersey Department of Education’s (NJDOE) mission is to serve the needs of adult learners and youth (aged 16 and over) in attaining their state-issued high-school diploma in order to achieve their educational, career and personal goals.
If you’re an adult resident of New Jersey without a high school diploma, you can get its equivalent by obtaining your GED® credential. Earning your GED ® in New Jersey involves preparing for and passing a series of tests.
Register for our GED tests online at www.ged.com We test every Thursday between 1:30 and 4:30pm. Cancellation policy: Although we hope not to, Poway Adult School reserves the right to cancel scheduled classes.
