15 Νοε 2021 · In this paper we consider exposures of pregnant women, chiefly in medical settings, review the effects of low, moderate and high dose radiation exposures on the embryo and foetus, and evidence for any difference in the response of pregnant women to radiation.
This review describes the low added risk of malformation/cancer in the offspring, highlight gaps in our understanding, discuss several common wrong beliefs, and recommend how to further decrease radiation dose, especially during pregnancy. 15 Νοε 2021 · Generally, intentional exposure of pregnant women is avoided as far as possible in both medical and occupational situations. This paper aims to summarise available information on sources of radiation exposure of the embryo/foetus primarily in medical settings.
We review the effects of ionizing radiation received during pregnancy, with a focus on patients with known or newly discovered cancer in pregnancy. The knowledge of concurrent pregnancy and cancer may alter decisions regarding the timing and type of imaging, as well as the treatment and delivery plan.
