The second season of Prison Break, an American serial drama television series, commenced airing in the United States on August 21, 2006, on Mondays at 8:00 pm on Fox. Prison Break is produced by Adelstein-Parouse Productions, in association with Rat Entertainment, Original Film and 20th Century Fox Television .
In season two, Michael, Lincoln and six other inmates, including pickpocket Tweener and the mentally unstable Haywire, have ultimately escaped from Fox River. Once outside the prison walls, however, the escape truly begins as the convicts race for their lives while trying to avoid capture by the authorities.
Season 2 consists of a total of 22 episodes and was first aired from August 21, 2006 to April 2, 2007. It directly follows the prison break from the first season. A new major character is introduced, who is FBI Special Agent Alexander Mahone, portrayed by William Fichtner.
