You may apply to adopt a wiki bearing the Official Wiki logo, but adoption of these wikis is done at Fandom's sole discretion and may not follow the rules set forth here. You are allowed to submit only one adoption request per 24 hour period. Please keep this in mind.
Follow these simple steps and you will be on your way to adopting a community! Read over the adoption guidelines to make sure you are eligible to adopt the community, and that the community is eligible to be adopted. Do preparatory work on the community in question.
While a community’s founder may request that their project be closed, if the topic is of general public interest Fandom generally prefers to leave dormant communities available for adoption. Wikis which have no content, or remain inactive, or have a large overlap with another wiki may be merged with another project or closed completely.
14 Νοε 2016 · The Wikia format is really good for cataloging things, and i was wondering if it is possible to make a private wiki for a small team's project. That would ideally be a wikia which can only be acessed with a password or by certain IPs, but it could also be a wikia that cannot be edited by everyone.

18 Απρ 2019 · Any wiki created on Fandom is publicly viewable by anyone on the internet. Only few wikis are actually private, and they're used mainly for Staff to test new features and communicate with their team of volunteers.
Adoption is a process whereby a person assumes the parenting of another, usually a child, from that person's biological or legal parent or parents. Legal adoptions permanently transfer all rights and responsibilities, along with filiation, from the biological parents to the adoptive parents.
