That decision: the mailed version of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter will be discontinued with the 12/11 issue. This category is the one where the results are clearly whacked. The right person won, but the nature of how things have evolved in pro wrestling and MMA is that the most charismatic fighters, due to being covered as mainstream sports stars on ESPN, simply blow away wrestlers in a big way as draws.
WWF won a ton of these in the late 90s and early 2000s when most pro wrestling fans considered them a better promotion than WCW. I think there's a certain style of pro wrestling that WON subscribers have always preferred and AEW is happy to give them that style, while WWE will only rarely and begrudgingly have matches of that style.
Wrestling Observer Radio: Weekend TV, Maple Leaf and Royal Quest, AEW PPV numbers.
There are usually a few shows a week with Dave, and the mailbag segments at the end of those are worth the price alone. Not to mention, the Observer Newsletter is unparalleled and far more comprehensive and sensible than you'll find anywhere else. Hope that helps.
