Light is the physical agent that makes objects visible to the human eye. Its origin can be in celestial bodies such as the Sun, the Moon, or the stars, natural phenomena such as lightning, or in materials in combustion, ignition, or incandescence.
Light in art includes using actual light--the lighting of artwork, how a light source might interact with an artwork, the use of reflections, and using light itself as an artistic medium--as well as using implied light to create the illusion of light in two-dimensional work.
The seven elements of art are line, shape, form, space, value, color and texture. These elements are the essential components, or building blocks, of any artwork. Any good artwork should consist of these 7 ingredients.
