J3000HB. Proto® 10 Piece Black Oxide Open-End Wrench Set.
Large striking surface for surer blow contact and more efficient transmittal of force to fastener. Short handle permits use in close quarters. Box opening designed to remain on fastener when wrench is struck. For use where extreme force is necessary to loosen or set large fasteners.
Fits most 4, 6 and 12 point fasteners. Designed for heavy use in close quarters where hammer or sledge is required to loosen frozen nuts or set large fasteners. High strength rectangular design withstands heavy sledging. Box opening designed to remain in place on fastener when wrench is struck.
PROTO Striking And Slugging Wrenches High-strength steel wrenches with a large striking surface; ideal for use with hammers and sledges to tighten or loosen damaged / stubborn fasteners. Available in 6 pt. and 12 pt. box ends for fine indexing
Striking wrenches (also known as slugging wrenches) are short, thick wrenches with a block shape on the end of the handle that is struck with a hammer. The wrench is placed on a fastener and the block end is struck with a hammer to provide additional force to loosen or tighten frozen and rusty nuts and bolts.
Ratcheting combination wrench sets come with a box end design on one end of the handle with a gear mechanism that allows the wrench to rotate freely in one direction without removing the wrench head from the fastener and repositioning the wrench.
