There is a list for you. My vote is for the CECHB01. I have two of them, and I find them to look the best with the all black trim. They’re all equally unreliable as every launch model if they’re not taken care of. When it comes to choosing which one you would want, it really depends;

One is considered reliable and good (The PS226) , the other one is considered bad (The Z series) and is usually replaced with the good one. If I open up my PS3 and discover that I have the Z series, where can I purchase the PS226?
Yes, the CECHE01 is backwards compatible with ps2 games. But I'd be cleaning and repasting this thing too.

If you are on any Custom Firmware currently all you have to do is install this CFW PuP by the USB method.
27 Αυγ 2024 · I have this exact same ps3 model and I took it apart to clean it and now the controller won't sync. I press the PS button and all 4 lights blink rapidly (faster than when 1 blinks when it's charging) for about 30 secs and then turn off. I have tried to sync it a couple diff ways with the same result.
