19 Αυγ 2008 · The 60GB and 40GB versions have been retired, and (in the UK, at least) we're left with a console with 80GB storage, less USB ports, no memory card slots at all and no backwards compatibility.
In the early 60 GB (1 GB = 1 billion bytes) and 80 GB configurations, flash memory can also be used, either Memory Sticks; CompactFlash cards; or SD/MMC cards. All models support USB memory devices; flash drives and external hard drives are both automatically recognized.
15 Σεπ 2023 · The PS3 is not made for SSDs, it has nothing to do with the SATA interface (TRIM is a command to handle store data, not data transfer). Using an SSD will improve a little the loading speeds of the games, but that's all. It will not improve the boot speed or the XMB.
3 Φεβ 2015 · Probably the best solution for the PS3 is SHDD, which is a hybrid drive where the cache is the "big SSD" and the data ultimately goes to the platters. It's not a popular media type, but I've also never seen anyone report mystical deaths.
6 Μαρ 2009 · As of August 2008, a new "bargain" PS3 is available with a larger, 80GB hard drive, and a "deluxe" model is due in November, doubling the capacity to 160GB. Both, however, lack backward...
