29 Ιουλ 2020 · Let’s explore Psalm 121 together and proclaim with confidence that the Lord surely will keep our lives, even in confusing and uncertain days. I Lift My Eyes Up. Psalm 121 is a “Song of Ascents”. This means that Psalm 121 was sung as God’s people made their pilgrimage to the temple in Jerusalem.
Psalm 121 is a psalm about trusting in God’s providential care. It is a travel Psalm. In fact many families read this Psalm out loud together before going on a trip. Devout Jews recite portions of this Psalm when they leave or enter their homes.
Psalm 121 – THE LORD’S KEEPING. Psalm 121 is a Psalm that tells those who are born again Christians, that they are Kept By God! In this Psalm we discover four things about God’s keeping. GOD’S KEEPING IS A CHOICE – Vss. 1-2. This morning you are trusting someone or something to keep you and to give you a sense of worth. The choice is yours.

This poem is part of the Psalms of Ascent (Psalms 120-134), a group of songs believed to have been sung by Jewish pilgrims as they traveled to worship in the temple in Jerusalem.
