What IS PsyPets? A. Psypets is a virtual pet site based off Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. See here for a more in-depth description of the psychology behind PsyPets, and how that hierarchy pertains to how you deal with your pets.
How to Play. Each player starts on an existing Maze Piece in The Pattern. Moving to a clear, adjacent Maze Piece to the north, south, east, or west of the player costs 1 movement point. Using a Magic Ladder to move up or down a level moves you without using a movement point.
A Short History. Maslow was a psychologist back in the day (1908-1970) when the common view was that all people were deeply troubled at heart, greedy, just plain mean, and full of sexual tension problems. But Maslow had a slightly more hopeful view, upon which your PsyPets pet's behavior is modeled.

"Resident" is the term used to refer to any player of PsyPets. The "resident name" is the name of that resident that you see while you are playing the game, not to be confused with the "username" or " login name ", which refers to the name you use to log in to PsyPets with.
