With the publication of this Sustainability Report, PUB acknowledges the role we play as Singapore’s national water agency in managing our activities and impacts in a sustainable and responsible manner. This report covers PUB’s sustainability approach, initiatives and performance for our key environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) topics.
14 Ιουλ 2021 · The electricity generated from the solar farm will be sufficient to power Singapore’s five local water treatment plants, offsetting about 7% of PUB’s annual energy needs and reducing PUB’s carbon footprint.
11 Μαΐ 2020 · The solar power generated will meet the day-to-day energy needs for operations at PUB’s five local waterworks, including Marina Barrage. This makes Singapore one of the few countries in the world to achieve 100% green waterworks when the project is completed.
Floating solar system aims to be a global showcase of operational excellence and safety. Collaboration underscores PUB and Sembcorp’s commitment to support Singapore’s target of achieving 2 gigawatt peak (GWp) of installed solar capacity by 2030.
The project will culminate in a 100 m3/day pilot plant to produce NEWater. Further optimisation is being carried out to develop the membranes for seawater desalination.
PUB has embarked on a 3R strategy to achieve sustainability in energy consumption and decarbonisation from our operations – Reduce energy consumption, Replace with renewable energy and Remove carbon from our operations.
