Specifically, we apply the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s 10 Essential Public Health Services framework to abortion to describe how health departments should engage with abortion.
Our pro-posed approach describes what health department activities related to abortion might look like if health departments were to use an accepted public health framework to guide their abortion-related activities rather than focus primarily on enforcing abortion-related laws.
