9 Ιαν 2023 · This study concentrated on the idea of nanotechnology and its applications in the field of orthodontics, such as, for example, improving the antibacterial properties of orthodontic resins, resulting in a decrease in enamel demineralization, or controlling friction force during orthodontic movement.
Abstract. Aim: To analyse meta-analyses included in systematic reviews (SRs) published in leading orthodontic journals and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR) focusing on orthodontic literature and to assess the quality of the existing evidence.
An association between orthodontic treatment and the occurrence of TMD was demonstrated with an odds ratio of 1.84. Conclusions: The review authors conclude that the results of their systematic review indicate association between the orthodontic treatment and incidence of TMJ disorders.
16 Απρ 2022 · The current overview of SRs highlighted the need of high quality SRs comparing different surgical approaches for tooth movement acceleration though network meta-analysis, in order to determine the most efficient instrument for orthodontic movement acceleration.
The evidence from systematic reviews and meta-analyses published in orthodontic literature. Where do we stand?
1 Δεκ 2022 · The results revealed that there is an association between orthodontic treatment and the occurrence of TMD (OR=1.84) and the GRADE analysis showed a high certainty. However, the possible negative effect of orthodontic treatment on the temporomandibular joint has been a matter of concern for orthodontists and dentists in general.
