The rights prescribed in this Law represent the minimum limit of the Workers’ rights, and any conditions contravening the provisions of this Law shall be null and void, even if it is prior to its effectiveness date, unless it is more advantageous to the Worker.

This includes the right to change jobs without requiring a no-objection certificate from their current employer, a significant step towards improving labor mobility and reducing dependency on employers.
16 Ιαν 2024 · The Qatar Labour Law ratifies the minimum standard of rights and benefits for employees to which employers must adhere and the obligations of employees working in Qatar. Law No. 21 of 2015 detailing the foreign national’s entry, exit, and residency regulations has been in force since 2016.
16 Οκτ 2024 · Qatar’s labor laws mandate a minimum wage of QAR 1,000 per month, with additional allowances for food (QAR 300) and housing (QAR 500). Employers must also comply with the Wage Protection System (WPS), ensuring timely electronic payment of wages.
In 2015, the State of Qatar issued Law No. 21 of 2015, which introduces new provisions regulating the entry, exit and residency requirements for Qatar’s workers. The law came into effect on 13 December 2016 and introduced new provisions that provide:

Worker Any natural person who works in return for a wage for an employer or under his control or supervision. Apprentice Any natural person having an apprenticeship contract with an employer for his being instructed on the origins of a trade or craft or increasing his knowledge and skills thereon.
