Young fronds and buds start showing black lesions; Wilting young buds and fronds; A slimy rot on the buds of the affected palm trees. The buds are often affected by a firm rot that may turn slimy later after the secondary invaders.
Bud rot of palm is most often caused by Phytophthora palmivora, but can also be caused by Thielaviopsis paradox. Bud rot affects the apical meristem. This can lead to malformed new leaves, chlorotic new leaves, and lead to plant mortality. Treatment Strategy.
The most common bud rot pathogen in Florida is Phytophthora palmivora. Thielaviopsis paradoxa may cause this disease also. The first symptom is discoloration and wilting of the spear leaf and wilting/discoloration of the next youngest leaf. If severe, the spear leaf easily pulls from the bud.

21 Μαρ 2017 · You've probably done all you can to save your queen palms (drenching growth bud with hydrogen peroxide/copper fungicide). If the fronds are totally dead, then cut them off. If any green at all there may be some amount of photosynthesis.
