They're a higher level so you can either take high magic defense armor and run for food every 5 minutes or you can max prayer bonus with proselyte and use protect from mage. Bloodvelds aren't the only monster either.
Proselyte upgrade. Buddy and I were talking about unfinished quest lines and sea slug was brought up which led to a conversation of what would you do to upgrade proselyte. My suggestion was when wearing the pieces they would reduce prayer drain on active prayers per piece worn.
It's probably the all-around best armor until end-game. I use it more than strength (fighter torso/obby legs) or tank (barrows) gear. Piety is more of a boost to damage than +1.25 to max hit and protection prayers protect more than high defense.
