RA 9285 primarily adopted (1) Republic Act No. 876, otherwise known as the Arbitration Law (“RA 876”), which was enacted on June 19, 1953 to govern domestic arbitration, and (2) the 1985 UNCITRAL Model Law (“Model Law”) to govern international commercial arbitration.
