Republic Act No. 9231 provides measures to eliminate the worst forms of child labor and offers stronger protection for working children in the Philippines. The law prohibits the employment of children in hazardous work, slavery, prostitution, drug trafficking, and other forms of exploitation.
In terms of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the Philippines emits an average of 1.98 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per capita in 2020, or way below the global average of four (4) metric tons per capita.
